Happy St. Patrick’s Day! We celebrate our parish’s patron saint, St. Patrick this Friday. St. Patrick, the great patron of Ireland, is one of the Church’s great evangelizing saints. He was a figure who led a life of Christian generosity and humility, strong faith and devotion. He poured out his life in solidarity and concern for the well-being of the communities of faith he founded. We pray that the faith, hope, and love which he brought to Ireland with enthusiasm and sacrifice many centuries ago will increase in us day by day. St Patrick’s breastplate where he invited Christ to surround him with a shield of protection can provide us a way to pray: “Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left.” We also pray that we might be caught by St. Patrick’s belief in the power of prayer, the convictions of his faith, and in the closeness of God, as well as the support and prayers of our sisters and brothers. As we celebrate our patron saint, hospitality will be provided in the gathering space of the church after all masses this weekend. Please join us!
In addition to celebrating St. Patrick's Day, we look forward to a successful Celtic Ceilidh event to raise important funds for our roof project, While the event is sold out, the online auction is open to everyone. You do not have to attend the event to bid on these amazing items. To view items, click here. In a special way, I want to extend special appreciation to the Celtic Ceilidh planning team of: Melissa Anderson, Jamie Gilmore, Jeanine McKenzie and Lauren Mudd. Thank you for your sacrifice and great service.
I also would like to offer gratitude to our Gold, Silver and Bronze sponsors. Your generosity toward raising important funds for our roof project is much appreciated. Thank you for your contributions in building up our community.
As we are stepping into the second half of Lent, may God bless all of our good works and our Lenten observances.
Peace,
Fr. Quan
